Choose a Radiant Panel System

Slab

		Slab on Grade High thermal mass, low cost to install.

Choose a Boiler for the Radiant Panel

The boiler choice needs to be considered in conjunction with the entire project, there fuel and venting questions as well as the one or many water temperatures required.

Wood Fired Boilers

Requires a chimney or must be outdoors. Runs hot and requires mixing system for radiant. Efficiencies are not too great but if the wood is "free"...

Oil Fired Boilers

Requires a chimney. Direct Vented boilers are available in certain sizes. Efficiencies up to 87%. Runs hot and requires mixing system for radiant. Works well in conjunction with baseboard and fan coils. Needs an oil tank.

Natural Gas or Propane

Side wall vented using PVC pipe. Can run at low temperature, does not require mixing for radiant. Light weight can be wall hung. Can achieve up to 96% efficiencies when running at low temps. Some boilers modulate their firing ratio. A condensate drain is required.
